The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers

The Secret Society Of Twisted Storytellers is a non-profit organization with a global mission and purpose to connect humanity, heal and transform community and provide an uplifting, thought-provoking, soul-cleansing entertainment experience that is unique through the art and craft of storytelling. They are the proud winners of the Knight Arts Challenge.
The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers features storytellers who tell stories off the beaten path with thought provoking twists and turns. Stories so deliciously human, hilariously funny, so heartbreaking and inspiring you will want to run out and share them and perhaps tell your own!
The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers is an expression of love, commitment and support for Detroit, through the art and craft of storytelling. They invite you to come and connect. Let yourself go to places you've never been and/or have forgotten. Make new friends. Laugh yourself silly. Cry yourself Clean. Leave uplifted.
The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers was created by writer, actor and award-winning performer Satori Shakoor. Satori is a veteran of live performance with national and international awards, credits and acknowledgments for her accomplishments in the arts: music, theatre, storytelling and comedy. Satori is the recipient of a "Spirit of Detroit" Award. Satori is a Moth Mainstage storyteller and host. One of her stories, "Too Much"  aired on  "The Moth Radio Hour" on NPR and is available for free download via The Moth Podcast and/or Moth App. The Secret Society Of  Twisted Storytellers will be forever grateful to those old black ladies from the South who told her mesmerizing stories in childhood; and  The Moth for its mission, inspiration and support. Satori hosts The Moth storyslam in Ann Arbor, sponsored by Michigan Radio 91.7, every third Tuesday of the month.
