Fender Bender is a women and queer run bicycle collective in Detroit for cycling advocates, mechanics and bike enthusiasts. They provide a bike shop and resource space for primarily, but not limited to, women, transgender, and queer cyclists in the city of Detroit. They offer safe, comfortable, and comprehensive bicycle mechanic training programs, safe street riding instruction, a bike lending library, group rides, bike art activities, community events, and LGTBQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) support. Using the bicycle as a transformative tool in constructively addressing community issues, Fender Bender collaborates with various organizations in the city that also work within a social and environmental justice framework.
